Taylor Swift and Beyoncé fans sue Ticketmaster for price gouging.

Hundreds of Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and other music fans have filed a lawsuit accusing Ticketmaster and its parent company, Live Nation, of price gouging, claiming they’ve worked with venues to inflate ticket prices. This follows a federal antitrust case filed against Ticketmaster earlier this year.

Key Facts

Kinder Law lodged a lawsuit on Friday in the California Superior Court, Los Angeles County, accusing Ticketmaster and Live Nation of breach of contract, fraud, negligence, and antitrust violations.

The new case, which represents 365 fans of artists like Swift, Beyoncé, and The Cure, builds on a December 2022 suit and claims Ticketmaster and Live Nation have engaged in “racketeering activity” under the RICO Act.

The lawsuit alleges that Live Nation and Ticketmaster “exploit” their relationship with stadium venues to force fans to use Ticketmaster exclusively, driving up ticket prices beyond competitive market rates.

Ticketmaster and Live Nation have yet to respond to a request for comment.
